Our StoryJason Tostrup, owner of the Free Range restaurant, and Chris Meyer, a Chester native, both parents of students in our local schools, founded Chester Helping Hands to build community amidst “COVID Times.” CHH is a work in progress and a product of the good ideas and helping hands of many volunteers.
In March, we partnered with Katsiroubas Brothers of Boston (by way of Windham & Andover, VT) to offer affordable boxes of produce to people in the area, using our volunteer network. This service works well for the CHH community during the total and partial shutdown. We are able to bring affordable fresh fruits and veggies straight from the distributor to the consumer at a time when access is difficult. We will continue until markets return to some semblance of “normal.” CHH receives NO money from the sale of the produce boxes, and those we donate to community members have been paid for by donations from your neighbors and friends. |
